Earlier in my Career I worked in hospitality and was dissatisfied with the negative impact drinking and gambling was having on the community. I wanted to have a positive impact on people’s lives, so I changed careers and began work as a support worker, best life decision I ever made. I’ve also lived with depression and anxiety from a young age and I wanted the opportunity support, share and inspire others living with mental health or disability.

I’m definitely a family orientated person so I love spending as much free time as I can with them. I’m a massive music fan so I enjoy listening to all types of music and also really enjoy photography.

My drive in this industry extends from my family background, my family would support other older family members and anyone who was in need, treating others with kindness was instilled into me from a young age.  It was through this that I eventually decided I wanted to do something to support others in my work life.

I studied Social Work at Flinders Uni which led me to a placement with one of the larger disability organisations and the start of my journey in this industry and the development of my goal to make a difference in this sector and support the opportunities and growth of others.

I have lived with depression and anxiety most of my adult life and speak about this openly with our staff and customers as myself and my business partner Jye believe this should be normalized in society and more effectively understood by the community and by employers.

We hold the wellbeing of our customers, our staff, those in the community and ourselves with the highest regard.

When I’m at home I enjoy spending time with my daughter and going on fun adventures. I am very family orientated. I also like to play video games, build computers, and learn about new technologies in my free time.

Disability and mental health is an industry I essentially took a leap of faith into after many years working in production industries and hospitality. I have personal experience with disability and mental health through friends and family.  Mental Health and Disability supports and services is a big gap in our communities and there is still so much stigma attached to disability and mental health. With my personal experiences living with mental health as an adolescence and anxiety for much of my life I wanted to support others to live their best lives, be listened to and find the right support for them, because one provider/ support doesn’t fit all walks of life.  In my downtime outside of Achievement Collective I enjoy forestry rides on my horses, I love random fun facts, watching Harry Potter marathons and spending time with my Husband and friends.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology while I was working in accounts – I decided that I wanted to help people and found myself working as a community support worker, working with lots of different people living with lots of different disabilities and mental health conditions.

I love being able to focus on the positive outcomes and helping people to live their best life. I also love being able to help reduce the stigma that mental health has and to provide a safe and open space for support.

I absolutely love what I do and I love being around people with the same passion to help and support others.

I love spending time with my family, I love listening to music and I love being out in the sunshine.  I strongly believe that in a world where you can be anything, be kind – everyone is fighting a battle that you may know nothing about.  Be kind. Always. ♡

I decided to work in the Disability and Mental Health sector as I have lived experience dealing with Mental Health and this is something I am passionate about. I would like to remove the stigma around Mental Health and to help our customers set themselves up for the future with achievable goals, ensure coping strategies are in place and the right support system is surrounding them. I love what I do, and I love being around people with the same passion to help and support others.

I am passionate about what we do and am always thinking of new ways to improve our customer service and communication as well as implementing new programs to assist customers with different needs or abilities.

I am passionate about helping people and making a difference in their lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading crime novels, listening to crime podcasts and of course, watching true crime shows.

I like to get out and explore nature by going camping, hiking or just on an adventure through a forest with my partner and our dog Freya.

I also enjoy cooking and creating new healthy meals.
